Xinhua, April 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Myanmar Vice President U Nyan Tun started a three-day goodwill visit to Cambodia on Wednesday to further enhance relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Tun met with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong on Wednesday afternoon to explore ways to further strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation. "In the meeting, the deputy prime minister called for the Myanmar Airways International (MAI) to resume direct flights from Myanmar's Yangon to Cambodia's Siem Reap province,"Koy Kuong, spokesman for the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told reporters after the meeting.

He said the airline firstly launched regular flights to Cambodia in 2011, but later, the flights had been suspended. "Both sides also agreed to boost bilateral ties in trade, investment and tourism for the benefits of the two countries and peoples,"he said, adding that they also exchanged views on the ASEAN Community's Post-2015 Vision.

During the visit, Tun will pay a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen before sightseeing the world heritage Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province. Endi
