Xinhua, April 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Australian building approvals dropped 3.2 percent in February contrasting from record high figures in January, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) announced on Wednesday.

However, the rate of new building approvals over the past year is still high up 14.3 percent.

The lower rate of approvals in February was caused by a drop in approvals for new apartments and townhouses, which declined 6 percent.
