Tokyo shares open lower on weak business sentiment

Tokyo shares open lower Wednesday on the weaker-than-expected business confidence among major manufacturers in a survey released by the Bank of Japan.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 93.67 points, or 0.49 percent, from Tuesday to 19,113.32.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 10.01 points, or 0.65 percent, to 1, 533.10. Endi
