Papua New Guinea was rocked by a major earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 on Monday and authorities have issued a tsunami warning for nearby areas.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said the town of Rabaul in the north east of PNG was the epicenter of the quake. (Papua New Guinea-Earthquake-Tsunami)

YANGON -- Peace negotiators of Myanmar government and ethnic armed groups resumed their seventh day of the seventh round of peace talks here Monday after a week-long recess.

The two sides are set to continue discussions on four remaining points left unresolved in their sixth day talks on March 22 and a draft nationwide ceasefire agreement (NCA) is expected to finalize during this resumed talks.(Myanmar-Peace Talks-Resume)

KABUL -- Some nine Afghan army soldiers have been killed in attacks while 11 militants died in army operations within a day, said the country's Defense Ministry on Monday morning. "Over the past 24 hours, 11 militants were killed, 11 others wounded during Afghan army operations in six out of country's 34 provinces," the ministry said in a statement providing daily operational updates.(Afghanistan-Attacks-Death)

NEW DELHI -- At least 10 people were killed and 25 others injured in a road mishap in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand Monday, a senior police official said.

"The mishap happened when a bus in which the victims were traveling plunged into a gorge along the Garhwa-Ambikapur road in the morning," he said, on condition of anonymity.(India-Accident- Death) Endi
