Security forces kill five militants in SW Pakistan

Xinhua, March 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Officials in Pakistan's southwestern province of Balochistan said that five members of a banned insurgent group were killed and six others were injured on Sunday.

Members of the Balochistan Republican Army (BRA) were killed during a search operation in Mastung district, they said. The militants started firing when the paramilitary Frontier Corps started the search operation.

BRA is accused of attacks on the security forces in the province.

The authorities said that the suspects had held hostage drivers of eight oil tankers after they attacked the tankers on March 23. The drivers were also rescued, an official said. Endi
