Blast kills teacher in S. Afghanistan

A teacher was killed as a bomb blast went off in Uruzgan provincial capital Trinkot, 370 km south of Kabul on Sunday, acting police chief of the province, Gulab Khan said.

"It was a bobby trap planted by militants in front of the house of teacher Abdul Qayum in Khanaqa locality, Trinkot city exploded today morning killing the teacher on the spot," khan told reporters.

Condemning the blast, Khan said that the teacher Qayum was an innocent civilian and had served the people by teaching children in a local school.

Although no group has claimed of responsibility, the police official put the attack on the enemies of peace, a term used against Taliban militants for organizing the deadly blast. Endi
