Tunisian security forces kill 9 terrorists

Xinhua, March 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tunisian security forces killed nine terrorists, including a main suspect behind the Bardo museum attack, on Saturday night in the southwestern region of Gafsa, the official TAP news agency reported on Sunday.

Khaled Chaib, an Algerian man, who is the main suspect behind the Bardo museum attack, was allegedly killed in the fight with security forces, the report quoted a security source as saying.

Tunisian security forces have been leading sweeping security operations nationwide following a deadly attack by a group of militants against the National Bardo museum on March 18, killing 23 people and wounding more than 50 others, for which the Islamic State group claimed responsibility.

Spokesperson of the Interior Ministry, Mohamed Ali Aroui, called on Tunisian media not to report the details of the security operations to avoid providing the information to the terrorists. Endit
