Iceland's unemployment rate stood at 4.6 percent in February 2015, registering a year-on-year increase of 0.2 percentage point, according to a labor force survey issued Wednesday by Statistics Iceland.

The survey showed the number of people in the labor force market in February was 188,100, of which 8,600 people were unemployed.

Seasonally-adjusted data showed that in February, the number of unemployed people amounted to 9,100, increasing by 1,300 from January. The unemployment rate was 4.7 percent in February compared to 4.1 percent in January.

The trend lines for seasonally-adjusted data in the last six months show a slight decrease in unemployment rate and a slow increase in employment.
