Turkey lifts visa requirement for Polish citizens

Xinhua, March 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

Turkey decided to lift visa requirement from Polish citizens, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Wednesday.

In return, the minister asked facilitation in visa procedure of Poland, a Schengen country, for Turkish nationals.

Turkey also expects Poland's support to increase Turkish Airline's flights to the country, Cavusoglu said at a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart Grzegorz Schetyna.

The Turkish foreign minister also expressed gratitude for Poland's backing on Turkey's EU membership bid.

Schetyna, for his part, said Turkey and Poland were in cooperation for modernization of Polish defense systems.

Total trade volume between two countries is 5.5 billion U.S. dollars, but they aim to increase these figures, Cavusoglu said in a joint business forum with participation of Turkish and Polish businessmen.

He stressed need for easing visa procedures in order to boost bilateral trade. Endit
