Two Australians were among the 150 people killed overnight when Germanwings flight 4U9525 crashed in the French Alps, Australia confirmed on Wednesday.

A mother and her adult son from Victoria were traveling on the Airbus A320 that crashed en route to Dusseldorf from Barcelona. It is believed there were no survivors. (Australia-Plane Crash-Death)

SINGAPORE -- Singapore's founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's casket was transferred Wednesday from Sri Temasek, the prime minister's official residence on the Istana grounds, to Parliament House where his body will lie in state until Saturday.

At the Istana Plaza, Singapore's President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong offered their respects, along with 90 staff from the President's Office and the Prime Minister's Office. (Singapore-Lee Kuan Yew)

NEW DELHI -- A surveillance aircraft of the Indian Navy crashed in the Arabian Sea off the coast of the western state of Goa late Tuesday night, a senior defense official said Wednesday.

While one of the three Navy officers who were on board has been rescued, two officers are still missing and a massive search operation is underway to find them, he said on condition of anonymity. (India-Aircraft-Crash)

TOKYO -- The Japanese Foreign Ministry confirmed Wednesday that there were two Japanese aboard the Germanwings flight that crashed the previous day, local media reported.

The two male passengers named Nagata and Sato were in their 60s and 40s. They both lived in Duesseldorf, German, Japan's Kyodo News Agency cited messages from the Foreign Ministry as saying. ( Japan-Plane Crash-Death) Endi
