British FTSE 100 closes lower on Tuesday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday decreased by 0.26 percent, or 17.99 points, to 7,019.68 points.

International Consolidated Airlines Group SA's share price increased by 3.63 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Persimmon, Coca-Cola HBC AG, St James' Place and Barratt Developments increased by 2.45 percent, 2.26 percent, 1.59 percent and 1.59 percent respectively.

Associated British Foods led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 2.86 percent, followed by Wolseley (2.66 percent), Rio Tinto (1.99 percent), Glencore (1.87 percent) and Anglo American (1.84 percent).

The index has gained 8.09 percent so far this year when measured in U.S. dollar. Endit
