Mobile game developer Supercell announces record results

Xinhua, March 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Helsinki-based mobile game developer Supercell experienced major growth in 2014, media reports said on Tuesday.

The company's turnover grew from 519 million euros (about 567 million U.S. dollars) to 1.5 billion euros. Supercell made 515 million euros profit before taxes. Profit for 2013 was 243 million euros.

Despite the big numbers, Supercell employs only 152 people, 25 persons more than in 2013.

The company's CEO Ilkka Paananen told Finnish national broadcaster Yle that the company "believed in the power of small teams."

Asked about the future, Paananen said extreme competition prevails in the sector. "Developing new successes is difficult and requires that also failures are tolerated," he was quoted as saying.

The Finnish developer is known for games such as Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, and Hay Day. The company was established in 2010. Endit
