Germany sets up crisis team for Germanwings plane crash: report

Xinhua, March 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

A crisis team was set up by German Foreign Ministry on Tuesday to deal with a plane crash of German budget airline Germanwings, local media reported.

The crisis team opened a hot line with number 0049-30-50003000 for families of passengers on board to consult the latest information, German N-TV television reported.

Earlier on Tuesday, Germanwings' parent company Lufthansa said it has not confirmed what happened to flight 4U9525, which was en route from Barcelona in Spain to Duesseldorf in Germany and reported to have crashed in southern France.

"If our fears are confirmed, this is a dark day for Lufthansa. We hope to find survivors," the company said in its twitter account.

The websites of Germanwings and Duesselfdorf airport have crashed down. The airport said it has opened a hot line with number 0049-800-7766350 for "concerned persons". Endit
