U.S. military convoy passes across Poland

Xinhua, March 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

A U.S. military convoy is passing across the territory of Poland on its return journey to its base after military exercises held in Poland and Baltic countries, Polish Press Agency informed on Monday.

The military divisions had been taking part in joint military exercises in Poland and other Baltic countries for three months. Currently, the convoy is heading for its base in northeastern Bavaria, Germany under the escort of Polish military units.

The whole transport, named Operation Dragoon Ride, consists of nine columns with almost 90 armored personnel carriers. The convoy will pass across the territory of Poland and Czech Republic, covering a distance of almost 1,800 km.

The three-month-long U.S. participation in military exercises was a part of the operation Atlantic Resolve. Another part is the joint exercises, including the anti-aircraft battery "Patriot," which began in Poland on March 21.

After the U.S. divisions are replaced, bilateral and multitasking trainings will continue and international military exercises are to take place in May and June 2015. Endit
