At least 10 people were killed and 33 others wounded on Monday by a fresh rebel shelling in Syria's northern city of Aleppo, according to a monitoring group.
The mortar shells slammed into government-controlled areas of al-Baron and Jamiliyeh streets as well as the surrounding of the Sa'adallah al-Jaber square in Aleppo, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Syria-Mortar Attack)

BAGHDAD -- Iraqi security forces on Monday continued clashes with the Islamic State (IS) militants in the country's western provinces of Anbar, while a car bomb struck the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, security sources said.
In Anbar province, security forces, backed by allied Shiite and Sunni militias and covered with Iraqi and U.S.-led aircraft, carried out an offensive against the IS positions in northwest of the militant-seized city of Fallujah, some 50 km west of Baghdad, a provincial security source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. GHAZNI, Afghanistan -- About five children were killed and 10 others wounded after a bomb went off in eastern Afghan province of Ghazni on Monday, the provincial deputy governor said.

TRIPOLI -- Eight displaced Libyan civilians were killed in air strikes near the capital of Tripoli on Monday, the U.S. ambassador to Libya said.
