Xinhua, March 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

Burkina Faso's transition President Michel Kafando recalled Friday ten ambassadors abroad who were deemed to be close to the former regime.

Kafando, who is also Minister for Foreign Affairs, announced the decree of recall on state television this weekend, giving no explanation of the decision.

Among the recalled ambassadors are Odile Bonkoungou, Burkina Faso's ambassador to Germany and Daniel Ouedraogo, the country's ambassador to Cuba.

Since taking office, the new authorities of Burkina Faso undertook extensive "cleaning" in the administration under pressure from the public. Transition began in Burkina Faso since the fall of Blaise Compaore after 27 years of rule by the end of October last year. Endi
