Shandong Luneng smash Jiangsu Sainty in Chinese Super League

Xinhua, March 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

Shandong Luneng smashed Jiangsu Sainty 5-1 in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.

The two opponents of last Chinese FA Cup final met for the first time this season, and the 2014 FA Cup winners Shandong had a convincing win at home.

After two last-gasp defeats in the second round of the Chinese Super League and the AFC Champions League, Shandong managed to clean up the mood by the one-sided victory, although some key players were suffering from injuries.

Shandong's Brazilian winger Aloisio put the team in front after 10 minutes when he beat the offside trap and finished the shot neatly.

Wang Qiang helped extend the lead to 2-0 with a header off a corner kick in the 39th minute. Argentinean striker Montillo scored a penalty in the first half extra time, making the home team lead at 3-0 at the break.

In the second half, Jiangsu found neither useful strategy to stop Shandong nor powerful attack to make score.

Aloisio made assist to Wang Yongpo in the 66th minute and scored himself the second time in the 79th minute, putting Shandong five goals in front.

Jiangsu's Icelander striker Vidar Kjartansso managed to score the consolation goal just several minutes before the game ended. Endi
