Erdogan revealed the subject of the talks in his plane on his way back to Turkey late Friday night, according to the report.

Erdogan said, "Currently, we are in a position conducive to cooperation with Ukraine on political, military, economic, trade, and cultural issues."

Russia is observing closely war-ready Ukrainian military and military-technical relations with NATO members as well as European Union (EU) members.

Erdogan said he telephoned Russian President Vladimir Putin before his trip to the Ukraine, asking "if he had a message he wanted him to relay on his trip."
