Former deputy party chief of Yunnan expelled from legislature

Former deputy secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Yunnan Provincial Committee Qiu He has been sacked from the provincial legislature.

The Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Kunming, capital of Yunnan, said it had voted for the termination of Qiu's position in the Yunnan Provincial People's Congress, the provincial legislature.

Qiu is being probed for alleged serious violation of Party discipline, and laws, according to a statement by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), the discipline watchdog.

He has also been removed from his post as deputy secretary of Yunnan, sources with the central government confirmed on Wednesday. Endi
