Pakistan's road accidents kill 11

Xinhua, March 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least 11 people were killed and six others injured in two separate road accidents in central and northwestern Pakistan on Friday morning, local media reported.

Samaa TV reported that the major accident happened in the country's northwestern Mansehra district where eight people were killed and three others sustained injuries when a jeep carrying about 15 people fell into a ravine.

The jeep was on its way to Sangjora from Balakot, and the killed people are said to be members of the same family.

Rescue teams rushed to the area, following the accident, and shifted the wounded to a nearby hospital.

Cause of the accident has not been determined yet.

Located in the country's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Mansehra is mostly covered by mountainous terrain and the road accidents in the area are blamed on poorly maintained roads and vehicles.

In another incident in the country's central Multan city, three kids were killed and three others injured when a school bus met accident.

The injured children were shifted to a nearby hospital. Endi
