Tokyo shares open lower after recent rallies

Tokyo issues opened slightly lower Friday on profit-taking after recent rallies and the overnight fall in the U.S. stocks market.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average inched down 17. 09 points, or 0.09 percent, from Thursday to 19,459.47.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 1.71 points, or 0.11 percent, to 1, 574.10. Endi
