1st LD: Sydney cafe opens after deadly siege

Xinhua, March 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

Sydney's Lindt Cafe reopened on Friday after the December siege, in which two innocent Australians died at the hands of an Islamic extremist gunman.

The care installed two plaques dedicated to cafe manager Tori Johnson and barrister Katrina Dawson, who were killed after being held captive with 16 others for 16 hours.

New South Wales Premier Mike Baird earlier entered the cafe to chat with staff, including Joel Herat, one of several staff members to survive the siege.

The Sydney siege attracted worldwide attention and Friday's event attracted more than 200 local and international media. Endi
