NATO chief condemns Tunisia attack

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Wednesday condemned in a statement the the terrorist attack on Bardo museum in central Tunis, capital of Tunisia.

"I condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist attack in Tunisia," Stoltenberg said. It was reported that the attack left at least 19 people killed, including 17 European tourists.

He also extended profound condolences to Tunisia's President Beji Caid Essebsi and to the Tunisian people.

"NATO will continue to work with Tunisia and with our Mediterranean Dialogue partners in the fight against terrorism," the NATO chief said.

Five "terrorists" carried out the attack on Bardo Museum, two of them were killed by security forces, Tunisia's Prime Minister Habib Essid said in a press conference.

The prime minister pointed out that about 100 tourists were inside the museum when it was attacked. Endit
