1st LD: Putin starts meeting with Kyrgyz president in St. Petersburg

Xinhua, March 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

Russian President Vladimir Putin has started here a meeting with his visiting Kyrgyz counterpart, Almazbek Atambayev, the RIA Novosti reported Monday.

It was the Russian leader's first public appearance in 10 days.

Atambayev denied widespread rumors that his host has been suffering from some health problems, saying he wanted to "put out gossips" over Putin's mysterious 10-day disappearance from the spotlight.

"It will be dull to live without gossips," Putin was quoted as saying by the Interfax news agency.

Russian TV aired the footage showing the two leaders were talking. Endi
