China condemns Pakistan church attacks

Xinhua, March 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

China has condemned Sunday's terrorist attack on churches in Pakistan.

"We are deeply shocked and in a state of grief over the attack and condemn the terrorists in the strongest terms," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei said on Monday.

At least 14 people were killed and 78 others wounded when two suicide bombers blew themselves up at the entrance of churches in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore on Sunday, according to hospital sources.

"China extends heartfelt condolences to the victims and expresses deep sympathy to the wounded and the families of the victims," Hong said.

Stressing that China opposes terrorism in any form, he said China will continue to support Pakistan's efforts to counter terrorism and safeguard national stability. Endi
