Russian spacecraft carrying 3 astronauts returns to Earth

Xinhua, March 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Russian manned spacecraft Soyuz TMA-14M capsule landed successfully in Kazakhstan after completing its mission to the International Space Station (ISS), the Mission Control said Thursday.

The capsule carrying two Russian cosmonauts, Alexander Smokutyayev and Yelena Serova, and U.S. astronaut Barry Wilmore landed on the Kazakh steppe. They were retrieved by air and ground rescue teams shortly after the touchdown and travelled to the Star City in Moscow region.

The landing capsule also delivered the results of scientific experiments conducted aboard the ISS.

The Soyuz TMA-14M spacecraft was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Sept. 26, 2014.

During their mission, the crew handled the docking of several Russian Progress-M cargo ships and European Space Agency's ATV-5 Georges Lemaitre craft. They also conducted several spacewalks. Endi
