Xinhua, March 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Cambodia has rescued four Cambodian nationals trafficked to work illegally in Malaysia and Indonesia, spokesman of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Koy Kuong said Thursday.

"With the cooperation from the Malaysian authorities, the Cambodian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has saved a Cambodian couple, who had been cheated by ringleaders to work illegally in Malaysia, " he said in a media statement. "The couple will be repatriated to Cambodia on Friday."

In another case, he said, the Cambodian Embassy in Jakarta has rescued two Cambodian men, who had been cheated by ringleaders to work illegally on a Thai fishing boat.

"They had been saved when the boat entered Indonesian maritime territory illegally," he said, adding that the two victims will be returned to Cambodia on Wednesday next week. Endi
