Myanmar gov't forces continue to airstrike Kokang ethnic army

Myanmar's government forces continued to launch air strike against the Kokang ethnic army over the last two days, claiming the capture of some more strategic hills in the heavy fighting, official media reported on Wednesday.

The government troops mounted attacks on hilly bases of the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) in the vicinity of the village of Lonhtan, taking some hills after four air strike on Monday.

The government troops also shelled MNDAA bases near the border line, seizing some strategic hills also on Wednesday.

The two-day clashes left two dead and seven wounded with the government side.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed statistics show that as of now, the government side sustained 75 deaths with 196 others wounded, while 86 bodies were seized from the MNDAA with 30 being arrested. Endi
