Finnair launches low fare option for passengers only carrying hand baggage

Xinhua, March 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

In a new effort to attract customers, Finnish national carrier Finnair announced on Tuesday that it is introducing a new type of ticket for passengers traveling with hand baggage only.

Finniair said in a press release that the new ticket, named "Light," is designed only for Finnair operated flight between Finland, Scandinavia and the Baltic countries.

"Light" is the lowest-fare option in Finnair's ticket type selection, and it will be on sale starting from March 17, 2015.

The new ticket will offer more choices to Finnair's customers, and they have freedom to select the ticket type that suits their needs the best, said Tomi Hanninen, Vice President of Finnair.

Hanninen explained that Finnair flies a large number of passengers who travel with hand baggage only.

If needed, passengers holding "Light" tickets also have the opportunity to carry checked baggage at an additional cost, either in advance or at the airport, said Finnair. Endit
