Uganda's FA renews contract of Serbian coach Sredojevic

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has renewed the contract of the national football team coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic after reports that Sudan was wooing him.
Sredojevic told Xinhua in an interview on Tuesday that his contract has been extended for another three years.
"Yes, we have agreed and the Federation has given me a three year contract extension," Sredojevic disclosed.
Top Sudan Premier League side, Al Hilal on Saturday announced the appointment of Sredojevic as their new head coach. FUFA was quick to refute the reports saying Sredojevic is still in-charge of the team.
Sredojevic, who took over from sacked Bobby Williamson in April 2013, initially signed a two year contract which has less than 50 days to run out.
When pressed to comment on the contract extension of Sredojevic, FUFA's Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson refused to comment.
"We shall let you know at the right time but the coach is still with us," he said.
After the U-23's team elimination by Mozambique in the All Africa Games qualifier last weekend, Sredojevic will now have to concentrate on preparing the junior team for the Olympics games qualifier and the senior team for the World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers which start later in June and October respectively.
The 45-year-old Serbian coach first came to Africa in 2001 where he handled SC Villa before moving to Orlando Pirates (South Africa), St George (Ethiopia), Young Africans (Tanzania) and Al Hilal (Sudan) before he took the rein of the Rwanda national team for two years and later moved to handle the Uganda Cranes.
