Poland ratifies EU-Ukraine association agreement

Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski ratified the EU-Ukraine association agreement, the Chancellery of the President said Thursday.

Komorowski ratified the association agreement between the EU, the European Atomic Energy Community, their member countries and Ukraine. The document was created in Brussels on March 21 and June 27 last year.

The political part of the agreement concerns cooperation between the EU and Ukraine regarding international and security policy, as well as holding regular EU-Ukraine summits and creating the Association Council on the ministerial level.

The economic parts concern the rule of free trade and cooperation in the fields of economy, system of justice and internal issues.

The document also introduces the rules of cooperation in the domains of energy, transport and education. However, its implementation has been postponed until the end of 2015. Endit
