UAE, South Korea strengthen bilateral ties

Xinhua, March 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

Leaders of South Korean and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) agreed here on Thursday to strengthen bilateral ties, state news agency WAM reported.

South Korean President Park Geun-hye and Abu Dhabi crown prince, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, signed memorandums of understanding to found a Korean cultural center in the Gulf Arab state, and to expand the export of Korean-made Islamic (halal) food products.

Trade between the two countries has doubled year on year to 17.5 billion dirham (4.76 billion dollars) by 2013, the WAM report said.

The UAE is Park's third destination of the four-nation trip to the Middle East. She will leave for Qatar on Friday. Endit
