Indian government said Thursday that it is upset by the BBC broadcasting a highly controversial film on the 2012 Delhi gang rape, in which one of the rapists was interviewed in jail.

The also said that it would take action against British broadcaster BBC for telecasting the documentary in UK, a day after it was banned in this country.(India-Film)

YANGON -- A total of about fifteen people were detained in Myanmar authorities' crackdown on a 200-strong demonstration here on Thursday in support of core students' strike underway in Bago region's Latpadan with regard to issue of national education law amendment.

Of the 15 people arrested when they staged the protest in front of Yangon's City Hall, seven are student activists and some are leaders from the 88 Generation Peace and Open Society. (Myanmar- Protest)

JAKARTA -- Indonesia on Thursday rejected an idea to exchange Australian convicts scheduled for execution in the near future with Indonesian convicts under Australian custody offered by Australian government.

The rejection was conveyed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo to respond to the offer. Widodo said that the rejection doesn't mean Indonesia is a hostile country to Australia.(Indonesia- Australia-Convicts)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- Indian military said Thursday that Indian Air Force (IAF) rescued 220 civilians including women and children trapped in a remote snowbound area of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

The people, according to spokesman, were stranded in snowbound villages of Navpachchi and Sondar of Kishtwar district, around 275 km northeast of Jammu city, the winter capital of Indian- controlled Kashmir. (India-Snow) Endi
