Dubai unveils Museum of the Future plans

Xinhua, March 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) unveiled on Wednesday the detailed plans of the Dubai Museum of the Future, which displays how technology and science may change people's lives in 10 years.

Set to be completed by 2017, the Dubai Museum of the Future, a landmark project of the 2020 World Expo, will be located near Dubai's iconic twin buildings Emirates Towers, and will be shaped like a half-moon.

Mohammed Al-Gergawi, the UAE minister of cabinet affairs, showed here at a media gathering the first sketches of the museum.

"The Museum of the Future shall inspire the general public, scientists and young generations to think of inventions that might improve our daily lives in 10 years and contribute to research and development in science, health and education," he said.

Al-Gergawi said Arabs contributed in the past to mathematics and science and even the first alphabet was invented in the Middle East. "The museum will be a catalyst for us to go back to our roots and shape the future." Endit
