1.2 tonnes of drugs seized in SW China

Xinhua, March 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

Police have busted a drug ring operating in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and seized around 1.2 tonnes of narcotics, police announced on Wednesday.

This is the biggest drug seizure by Guangxi police this year, and resulted in the arrest of 10 suspects. Two methamphetamine labs were dismantled and 1.2 tonnes of ketamine seized. About 420 kilograms of raw materials and four guns were also confiscated, police said.

In August last year, Guangxi police began tracking a suspect, Pan, who is from Lipu County in Guilin City. Pan was a known drug dealer. On Feb. 8, police arrested 8 suspects, including Pan, and found about 117 kilograms of ketamine. The rest of the gang were apprehended on Feb. 15.

The investigation continues. Endi
