Japanese budget carrier launches Kansai-Hong Kong flights

Japan's low-fare domestic airline Jetstar Japan Co. on Saturday started flights between Kansai International Airport in western Japan's Osaka Prefecture and Hong Kong International Airport, the Kyodo news agency reported Saturday.

Launching the service with three round-trips per week, Jetstar will consider adding flights on the route.

The regular price of a one-way ticket ranges from 5,990 yen ( about 50 U.S. dollars) to 33,490 yen (about 280 U.S. dollars).

With the launch, three low-cost airline companies, Peach Aviation Ltd., Hong Kong Airways Ltd. and Jetstar, are currently running flights on the Kansai-Hong Kong route. Endi
