Cambodia, Russia to sign 5 cooperation documents next week

Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong will lead a delegation to pay a working visit to Russia from March 2 to 4 in order to boost ties and cooperation, according to a news statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.

"The visit is to strengthen bond of friendship and cooperation in various fields between the two countries," the statement said.

During the visit, Namhong will hold bilateral talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the two ministers will sign the plan of consultation between the two ministries, it said.

Besides, he will co-chair the 8th session of the inter- governmental Cambodian-Russian commission for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation with Russian Telecom and Mass Communications Minister Nikolay A. Nikiforov.

Four documents are expected to be signed during the session, the statement said, adding that those deals are focused on the cooperation in economics, investment protection, tourism, and prevention of illegal fishing of living marine resources. Endi
