2nd LD: Bomb kills at least 12 at bus station in northern Nigeria

Xinhua, February 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least 12 people were killed in a fresh bomb attack at a bus station in northwestern Nigeria's city of Kano on Tuesday, barely five hours after a similar attack hit a crowded bus station in the country's northeastern region, witnesses said.

A witness named Salim Ahmed Salim said so far at least 12 bodies had been evacuated from the scene of the place.

Several people were injured, he added.

Naseer Kura, a journalist who witnessed the attack said the blast was heard at the Kano Line motor park near a newly- commissioned overhead bridge.

Malam Ibrahim, a member of the local transport union at the park said the death toll might increase as rescue workers were still searching the area.

The Kano Line, located in Naibawa area of Kano state, is one of the busiest motor parks in the city. Endi
