Albanian commercial banks' lending standards to be eased in Q1 2015

Albanian commercial banks in the country are expected to ease lending standards in the first quarter 2015, for small and medium enterprises, according to a report published on Monday by the Bank of Albania on the lending process observation for 2014.

According to Albanian Telegraphic Agency, an expert of economics, Ardian Civici said that monetary policy easing undertaken by Albanian Central Bank, is definitely encouraging lending, which is translated into economy growth.

He added that another factor in the lending "liberalization" should also be the improvement of indicators of non-performing loans, following the decision for their recovery.

The Bank of Albania announced that the main factor contributing to the standards' easing in the fourth quarter of 2014 were the decisions of the Bank of Albania.

Also, competition and liquidity of the bank itself have been among factors, contributing to facilitate this sector. Endit
