Iran confirms blast at residence of ambassador in Libya

Iran's Foreign Ministry Sunday confirmed bomb blast at the residence of the country's ambassador in Libya's capital Tripoli, Tasnim news agency reported.
Condemning the bombing, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said that the blast has caused no casualties but left minor damage.
Iran monitors Libya's situation in close and is opposed to any foreign interference in the African country's internal affairs, Afkham said.
"We believe that developments in that country (Libya) should yield results through political consensus and national dialogue among the engaged parties," she added.
The formation of a "united national government" will block the way of terrorists and extremists in the Arab state, she said.
Two bombs exploded at the gate of the Iranian ambassador's residence in Tripoli on Sunday in which nobody was hurt, according to Al Jazeera.
The Sunni armed group of Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for the attack. Endit
