LME base metals prices decline mostly on Friday

The base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed lower mostly on Friday.

The European Central Bank (ECB) is making preparations again for a Greek exit from the eurozone, according to the German news magazine Der Spiegel.

German reports also said that the ECB wanted capital controls to be brought in to halt any potential capital flight from Greece.

The uncertainty of Greece weighed on base metals prices.

Besides, analysts expect limited price movement until post-holiday trade revives in China.

The three-month unofficial copper price increased 49 U.S. dollars, or 0.86 percent, to 5,729 U.S. dollars per tonne.

The three-month unofficial aluminium price lost 3.5 U.S. dollars, or 0.19 percent, to 1,805.5 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial lead price lost 6 U.S. dollars, or 0.34 percent, to 1,781 U.S. dollars a tonne.

Besides, the three-month unofficial zinc price lost 19 U.S. dollars, or 0.92 percent, to 2,056 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial nickel price increased 162.5 U.S. dollars, or 1.16 percent, to 14,112.5 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial tin price lost 150 U.S. dollars, or 0.83 percent, to 17,950 U.S. dollars a tonne. Enditem
