U.S., Iran to have more nuke talks in Geneva

Xinhua, February 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

U.S. and Iranian officials are set to have more bilateral talks on Thursday in Geneva over Iran's controversial nuclear program, the State Department said on Wednesday.

Wendy Sherman, U.S. under secretary of state for political affairs, will lead the bilateral consultations with Iranian officials in the Swiss city, the department said in a statement, adding Helga Schmid, deputy secretary general for the EU's external action service, will join the meetings.

The agency said Robert Malley, senior director for Iran, Iraq and the Gulf States at the White House National Security Council, is among the U.S. delegation.

Iran is negotiating with the P5+1 group comprising the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany, toward a comprehensive deal over its nuclear program by June 30, after missing twice self-imposed deadlines over the past year. Endi
