China, Ghana sign agreement on mutual visa exemptions

China and Ghana on Tuesday signed an agreement on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and service passports.
The agreement will see holders of such passports or government- approved visitors exempted from visa requirements for entry into, exit from or transit through the territory of both countries.
The Chinese Ambassador to Ghana Sun Baohong signed for her country while Kwesi Quartey, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affair and Regional Integration, initialed for Ghana.
Sun said the signing of the agreement is a major step in facilitating people's exchange between the two countries.
She said the signing embodies the friendly relations and cooperation between China and Ghana and it will help intensify their political exchange and practical result and cooperation.
"We are very happy this morning that this goal has been realized. Both China and Ghana are committed to providing more efficient and expedient facilities to the peoples of our two countries," she said.
Quartey said the agreement will further consolidate and deepen the already existing fruitful and productive relations and cooperation between Ghana and China.
"We are looking forward Your Excellency to mutual cooperation, greater consolidation of our relations, further political and economic exchanges and general well-being of our people," said Quartey.
The agreement will come into force after the two countries have complied with domestic procedures. Endi
