Multiple blasts rocked Biu, a major commercial town in Nigeria's northeastern state of Borno, on Tuesday, almost a week after a suicide bomber wreaked havoc in the place, security sources said.

Three blasts were heard, one after the other, near a military base in Yamarkumi axis of Biu, some 187 km away from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, Abu Miringa, a member of the civilian security force formed by the local people told Xinhua via telephone.
