Aston Villa names Sherwood as manager

Xinhua, February 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tim Sherwood has been named as the new manager of Aston Villa, the Premier League side announced on Saturday.

The former Tottenham Hotspur head coach replaced Paul Lambert, who was sacked on Wednesday after a string of poor results sent Villa to the relegation zone.

"Aston Villa Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Tim Sherwood as our new manager," Villa announced on their official website.

"It is a great honor to manage one of the biggest clubs in English football," Sherwood said. "I can't wait to get started and I'm really looking forward to the challenge." Endi
