Xinhua, February 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Iranian security forces dismantled a terrorist cell in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, the Intelligence Ministry announced on Saturday.

Iran's intelligence forces have launched complicated operations, destroyed several terrorists' strongholds, and arrested many, said Iran's Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alawi said, adding that they also seized 350 kg of explosives in the raids.

The operations were mounted in collaboration with Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, law enforcement units as well as local residents, he was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency.

The arrested terrorists have had a hand in a number of heinous crimes, including the killing of local teachers and security forces, he added.

Sistan and Baluchestan province, mostly populated by Sunni Muslims, has been the scene of bloody clashes between the Sunni rebels and the Iranian security forces. Endit
