One Turk was killed and four others wounded on Friday in clashes on Syrian border of southeastern Turkey, private Dogan news agency reported.

The tension erupted near Akcakale town of southeastern Sanliurfa province on the Turkish-Syrian border when soldiers of the Turkish security forces prevented a crowd of Syrians and Turks from bringing a herd of cattle into the Turkish territory, according to the report.

The Turkish soldiers warned the crowd to disperse, but the people insisted on bringing the cattle into the Turkish territory, said the report.

A Turkish citizen Osman Sahin was killed when a Turkish soldier opened a warning fire into air, said the report, adding that another Turk Ibrahim Yarkadas and three soldiers were injured in the clashes.

As more Turkish soldiers arrived at the scene, the crowd has dispersed into Syria, added the report. Endit
