GCC to hold extraordinary meeting on Yemen in Riyadh

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) said foreign ministers of its member states will gather here on Saturday for an extraordinary meeting, Al Eqtisadiya newspaper reported.
Observers indicate that Saturday's meeting will focus on the latest developments in Yemen.
On Friday, Yemen's Shiite Houthi group set up a presidential council to take over power from the presidency, a move further deepens the chaos after Yemen's president and premier submitted resignation last month.
The GCC rejected on Saturday of Houthis' control of Yemen and warned of steps to protect Gulf countries' interests.
In a joint statement, the Gulf countries described the takeover as termination of the peaceful political process by Yemeni political powers. Endit
