Guangdong clinched the final semifinal berth by beating Dongguan 102-89 and collecting a 3-1 triumph of the best-of-five quarterfinals at the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league playoffs on Thursday.

Former NBA player Yi Jianlian led Guangdong with a double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds, the foreign duo Will Bynum and Jeff Adrien combined for 37 points and 16 boards, Dong Hanlin and Wang Shipeng finished with 14 and 13 points respectively.

Dongguan's Ike Diogu had a team-high 28 points and 14 rebounds, Meng Duo contributed 12 points, Bobby Brown had 11 points and five assists and Gu Quan added 10 points.

Guangdong heated up for the game more quickly and built an 8-0 run at the start of the first quarter. Dongguan only trailed four points after Gu Quan chipped in a 3-pointer with several minutes left in the second quarter. Thanks to Bynum's consecutive shots, Guangdong led 53-46 into halftime.

Dongguan tried all means in the second half but were not good enough. Guangdong kept pace in the whole game while they dominated the board by 56-38.

Guangdong will meet the defending champions Beijing while Liaoning take on Qingdao in the semifinals to be beginning on February 25, also with a best-of-five format. Endi
