Xinhua, February 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Two police officers were killed when a colleague of them allegedly ran amuck and lobbed grenades at a police station in southern Philippines on Monday evening, authorities said on Tuesday.

The incident that killed a police captain and his deputy happened at the police station in Cabanglasan town, in Mindanao's Bukidnon province around 7 p.m. local time, said Christian Uy, spokesperson of the army's 4th Infantry Division.

Police senior inspector Crisanto Molina and his aide inspector Dexter Garcia died due to shrapnel wounds following the blasts, police said. A civilian was also hurt.

A manhunt has been launched against police officer Gorospe Cairo, who was tagged as behind the lobbing of two grenades at the police station, authorities said.

An investigation was underway to determine the possible motive of the incident. Endi
